Welcome to the West Midlands Campaign Page 2007

The annual West Midlands Regional TravelWise Campaign will this year run from June to November – following the successes of previous campaign years. The TravelWise 2007 brand will be reinforced througha number of regional events and smaller local events planned throughout the summer. Each event will provide members of the public, workplaces and schools with a wealth of information about TravelWise and how TravelWise can be incorporated into our daily lives. There is also a TravelWise competition running throughout the year and newsletters sent to all regional schools each term.
A regional conference is planned for 6th November at Austin Court Birmingham entitled ‘How is your Business Travelling? - Climate Change, Economy and Travel Plans’
Travel, and the way in which we work is set to change drastically over the next 20 years. This years TravelWise Annual Conference is looking at how implementing Travel Plans as part of a business plan can make a difference and have an impact on the future of transport in the West Midlands. It will also have financial benefits for companies and organisations whilst helping to reduce the impacts on climate change.
It is an opportunity to learn more about travel planning, how it can benefit a business and the support available to address corporate transport problems. It is also a forum to network with other organisations that may have similar transport issues.
A joint conference with West Midlands Physical Activity Network is being organised for February 2008….more details will be availble soon.
